As the Los Angeles Auto Show rapidly approaches, the 8th international Design Challenge has been announced. This year sees six design studios turning to the silver screen and creating the next ‘A-list automobile', those being: Honda Research and Development Americas, Inc; Hyundai Design North America; Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America inc.
Cadillac has lagged the industry in infotainment, but that will change next year. While Ford has touted MyFord Touch, and the imports various infotainment systems, General Motors spent the past 30 months developing CUE, short for Cadillac User Experience. The infotainment system's simplicity might remind users of an iPod Touch screen.
Nissan has increased production of the Qashqai to cope with demand
We thought the original Nissan Qashqai was a decent car. It looks set to improve in a number of important areas when the 2010 Qashqai hits showrooms in March, and it seems that the great car buying public is in agreement as Nissan has just announced that they are to increase production at their plant in Sunderland to cope with demand for the new Qashqai. With all the grief in the car industry last year Nissan cut production back to two shifts in Sunderland.
